Health & Safety Monitoring

What is a PERS system?

Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) is an electronic device designed to let you summon help in an emergency. It has three components: a small help button carried or worn by the user; a console connected to the user’s telephone; and an emergency response center that monitors calls.

How does it work?

When assistance is needed, the system is activated by pressing the transmitter’s help button. It sends a radio signal to the console which establishes a 2-way communication through a highly sensitive microphone and speaker from ANY LOCATION within the house to the call center. The call center determines the nature of the emergency and takes immediate action and summons appropriate action. Family, friends or healthcare providers can also be automatically contacted.

Waterproof Pendant

When the center button on the pendent is pressed an emergency signal is sent to monitoring systems console, which opens up a 2-way voice communication with a care specialist at the central monitoring station. Can be worn as a necklace or around wrist, and can be used to answer incoming phone calls. Unit will automatically signal the console monitor when batter becomes low, after 3-5 years.

Fall Detector

When tilted more then 60 degrees will transmit to the console unit. You can specify how many warnings and how often the console will announce a warning before it sends an emergency signal and opens a 2-way communication with a care specialist. Also has a button, that when pressed will send an emergency signal and open 2-way voice communication.

Inactivity Monitor

Monitoring system is programmable for two daily inactivity time periods to detect motion. Pet immune for pets up to 85lbs.

Smoke Detector

Photoelectric smoke detector is designed to detect smoke (not heat or flame). It will provide an early warning of a developing fire by sounding its built-in horn and by transmitting a signal to the monitoring system console, which will announce the danger and open a 2-way voice communication with the central monitoring station.

Flood/Water Detector

Used in basement or anywhere that has the potential to flood and cause water damage. Once the probe gets wet it immediately transmits to the monitoring system console and will open up communication with the central monitoring station.

Intrusion Detection

Magnetic contact device typically used in home security systems that sends a signal when contact is broken such as a window or door being opened. Often used as an inactivity check by installing for example on a refrigerator door. Monitoriing system enables two programmable time spans to detect activity.
